How was 2011 for you? For me it was a year of exhilarating highs and numerous firsts. Kylie's "Aphrodite Les Folies" tour in the Splash Zone at Manchester was one of the best days of my life and one of the highlights of this or any other year.
I also returned to Paris, which is a city I love, went to my first ever V Festival which I also loved, passed my Welsh exams in the Spring, spent a glorious week in Mykanos in the Summer and became a member of the team at Midlands Rocks, reviewing eight gigs for them during Autumn/Winter. I had a fantastic time at The Globe and the West End in London and the Cambridge Rock Festival in August where I took loads of pictures and met Bryan & Livvy from Mostly Autumn!
I saw Wolves beat Villa at Villa Park for the first time in decades and avoid relegation in a nerve shredding finale on the last day of the season. There were also some fantastic gigs at festivals and at venues big and small up and down the country and some fabulous new music to enjoy.
On the other side however, 2011 was also a difficult year with some heartbreaking and at times frustrating and demoralising lows. I don't think it's right to document them all here but I know that for me and for many others these battles will continue into 2012.
For me personally I ask for resilliance and grace to cope with what life throws at me, hope and optimism that things can and will change for the better, energy and drive to make the changes happen where I can and the wisdom to realise that NOW is really all we have and to enjoy the moment wherever possible.
I wish you all a happy, healthy, positive, exciting and fearless 2012. Let's make it a good one...
