Tell Me Something New: Florrie

Florrie is 22 year old Bristol born singer/songwriter/musician Florence Arnold. Despite offers from major labels in the UK and the US, Florrie remains independent and releases her music on her own label, retaining creative control over her work in the process - more power to her I say! She is also the in-house drummer for the Kent based production team Xenomania and has played on records by Kylie Minogue, Girls Aloud and the Pet Shop Boys.

She released her second EP, "Experiments" last month. The lead single "Begging Me" can be viewed here:

However my favourite track on the EP is a track called "I Took A Little Something". There is now a video for this on Dolce & Gabbana's Official You Tube channel. The music/model is Florrie, the clothes are all D&G and it's shot in Paris so it's all tres chic!

Macca!

After The Beatles - and either side of Wings - Paul McCartney released two solo albums, both recorded at home and written, produced, played and sung entirely by Paul. The first, "McCartney", was released in 1970, the second, appropriately entitled "McCartney II" was released in 1980. I have copies of both on vinyl. I'm too young to remember the release of the first album but the second is etched firmly into my early teenage brain!

Fast forward to 2011 and both of these albums have been remastered and come with loads of extra features depending on which version you buy! In the case of "McCartney II" there is a single disc edition which replicates the original album, a two disc edition which contains eight bonus tracks and a rather fabulous 3CD + DVD "Deluxe Edition" housed in a 128 page booklet (although this retails for rather more than the £3.99 my original vinyl album cost me!) Tracklisting for this rather splendid little item is as follows:-

2. Temporary Secretary
3. On The Way
