In Flight

I had a busy few days a fortnight ago with three gigs in four days, the first of which was Yes at Birmingham Symphony Hall.

Singer Benoit David seems to have relaxed into his role as lead singer and he cut a more confident and assured figure and it was good to see the return of Geoff Downes on keyboards.

Perhaps most heartening of all is their first new album in 10 years, "Fly From Here", which featured prominently in the set. For me personally it was good to see Yes as a going concern again, rather than simply a band presenting songs from decades gone by, however amazing that back catalogue may be.
