Hovas Vittne

This interesting item was sold on eBay this week. It's a record by Abba called "Hovas Vittne". It was never commercially released and was made especially as a gift for their manager Stig Anderson. 300 copies were pressed and they were given away to guests at his 50th Birthday party in 1981. This copy was sold after eight bids for the tidy sum of £1,290!  

Substantially less expensive is this video clip, again made as a gift for their manager, of Abba performing the song and donning their Eurovision outfits seven years on...

Musical World Turning....

Lots of musical news to be getting on with - so much so that I'm going to have to break it down into bite size chunks!

Kim Wilde - July 19th sees the release of two more Kim Wilde reissues "Teases & Dares" and "Another Step", Both come as 2CD sets with 27 tracks and 30 tracks respectively.

Art Of Noise - July 19th also sees the release of  "Influence: Hits, Singles, Moments, Treasures", a 2CD "Best Of..." with 39 tracks taking in the ZTT years and beyond.

Bucks Fizz - The long talked about "The Bucks Fizz Story" DVD is finally being released as a limited edition. The company putting it together are now taking pre-orders...and yes, as a die hard Fizz fan I've ordered one! To see what all the fuss is about you can view the trailer here:

Breathing Space - Coming full circle Breathing Space have today announced that their new lead singer is... Heidi Widdop. You may remember that Olivia Sparnenn left the band to become lead vocalist with Mostly Autumn after Heather Findlay's departure? Well, Heidi was the original lead singer in Mostly Autumn prior to Heather Findlay joining! Weird how the musical World turns sometimes isn't it? Good luck to Heidi, new guitarist Adam Dawson and the rest of the band. Looking forward to seeing the new line up at Cambridge...
